Have You Had Weird Dream Experiences Like Mine?

Being Pongal, today was a holiday for everyone—my office, my kid’s school, and even my mom’s business. The day turned into a perfect excuse to catch up—on missed TV shows, school-day games, and, for me, binge-watching Lucifer for the fourth time. After lunch, we were all so exhausted from doing nothing that we retreated to our beds.

By the time I lay down, a blinding headache had taken over. I tried everything—medicine for the pain, even applying Vicks on my forehead—but nothing worked.

My kid was nearby, so I asked her to place her little hands on my forehead and give me a small massage. What do you know? Within moments, I was off to dreamland.

In this dream, I was a college girl hanging out with friends. It was a totally different college experience from my real life. I studied in a women’s college, but here I was in a co-ed—literally a dream come true for girls like me. Pun intended, lol. We were the naughtiest gang, stirring up so much fun, and, of course, there was a bit of college rivalry to spice things up. Everything was colorful and perfect—until one of my friends got married.

We were all invited to her wedding, and naturally, I was the maid of honor—or as we call it in Tamil, the Ponnu Thozhi. I wore this stunning black-and-red designer saree and looked absolutely gorgeous in it (if I say so myself!). To top it off, my crush was standing on stage next to the bride and groom. Then, my friend decided to make me the star of the show. She handed me the microphone for a song performance.

Now, I was a little shy because this was my first time performing in front of such a huge crowd, and my crush was right there on stage. The music started, and I began singing. That’s when my perfect dream took a nosedive straight into nightmare territory.

I gave such a terrible performance. How do I even describe it? It was like this scene from the Tamil movie All in All Azhagu Raja, where the female lead performs so badly it’s cringeworthy. If you’ve seen it, you’ll know exactly what I mean. If you haven’t seen it, watch it here

Terrified, I woke up at that exact moment. The first thing I did was try to sing the song from my dream. And guess what? I nailed it perfectly while awake. That’s when it hit me—it was all just a weird, bad dream.

I’m still trying to figure out what this dream means, but I thought I’d share it with you all. Have you ever had a dream like this? Let me know—I’d love to hear your weird dream experiences!
