Life isn’t always about happy endings; it’s about chaos, problems, feelings, and pain. On one such painful day, I penned down my feelings. Read on to see if you can relate to my experience.
I dislike playing the villain, to family,
Friends, and colleagues. Bearing
Responsibilities on my shoulders alone,
Dims the joy we once have known.
Yet, I must assume this role,
Tasked to lead the family, guide
My friends when they go astray, highlight
Errors in the reports that coincide.
Labeled a bad daughter for questioning debts,
Portrayed as a bad sister, your marriage unmet.
How do I convey, my intentions aren’t cold,
Disagreement isn’t defiance, it’s a story untold.
Am I a bad mother for counting coins,
When my daughter wishes for little joys?
She yearns for the park, a simple fling,
I say no, counting coins, a painful sting.
But, instead of dwelling on what seems tough,
I’ll count the blessings, more than enough.
Love in every gesture, life’s tender swing,
Overflowing joy that in our bonds does spring.
